June 2021 Family SEL Opportunities

• Mindful Mondays for Dallas ISD Parents & Caregivers  (6/21, 6/28, 7/12, 7/19, 7/26)
  • Dallas ISD’s SEL department is hosting a series of mindfulness sessions in English and Spanish for district parents and caregivers.
  • Sessions will be 30 minutes in length, virtual,  and led by a Certified Mindfulness Trainer.
  • All sessions are free and no experience is necessary.
  • Please share the flyer (English/Spanish) with your campus families.

• SEL Parent Discussion Series: Session 8: Managing Fear, June 9, 4:30-5:30pm (English), 6:00-7:00pm (Spanish)
  • As part of the SEL Dallas partnership we’ve created a series of 1-hour family-focused virtual sessions to learn about social and emotional learning (SEL) and important SEL skills.
  • The purpose of this session is to provide caregivers with a strategy for helping their child manage fear by practicing self-awareness and self management.
  • Parents and caregivers are welcome to join any session, or the entire series.
